Do you feel as though society focuses on females with eating disorders rather than males? Do you think that this is a gender bias? Why or Why not?

  1. Society focuses more on female eating disorders than males with eating disorders. It is gender biased which is not right because, though there are more females with eating disorders, it doesn't erase the fact that men have them as well. Perhaps this is because the media focuses more on female perfection than it does male perfection. There are male perfection ideals in the media but when you are a female, you are bombarded with beauty commercials and diet commercials constantly. Equal focus needs to be placed on eating disorders because it is an illness that anyone can be susceptible to.
